The Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association was created in 1999 to provide graduates of the Northglenn Citizens Academies the opportunity to stay involved with volunteer opportunities with the City and the Police Department. We provide support to the Police Department in a variety of areas, from assisting with their special events to hosting an annual police appreciation barbeque for the department to transporting police vehicles for maintenance.
What is the Citizens Police Academy?
Since 1998, the Northglenn Police Department has offered citizens of Northglenn the opportunity to learn more about crime in their community, and the activities of the police department, through our Citizen's Police Academy. Instruction is given by lecture, hands-on experience, and demonstrations at several locations within the city.
Most of the classes are held in the training room at the Police Department. The programs are approximately 11 weeks long, and scheduled for three hours each night.
